Aleida Bertran

BIOGRAPHY
Based in Catalonia, Aleida Bertran is a researcher and visiting lecturer at the Latvian Academy of Culture.
Her academic background is multidisciplinary. She holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting Studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a year abroad at the University of Kent in Canterbury (2011-2015), an MSc in Cultural Resource Managament from Heriot-Watt University (2016-2017) and a PhD in Theory of Culture from the Latvian Academy of Culture (2018-2023).
Her doctoral thesis was awarded the International Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Education of Latvia in 2018.
She is a native speaker of Catalan, Galician and Spanish and a polyglot with complete fluency in English, French, Italian and Portuguese, and improving competency in Latvian.
She is also a certified teacher of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) from International House Barcelona.
